Barbara Szwarc is a recent MA in Finance and Investment graduate from Poland. Barbara recently spoke to us to explain why she chose to study her master’s online, and how she managed to balance her professional life with her degree studies.
Hi! My name is Barbara, and I recently graduated with an MA in Finance and Investment degree. I began studying in the UK, then I moved back to Poland, where I finished the programme.
The whole experience was actually pretty smooth. I enjoyed the fact that I could study anywhere, even when I was travelling for business.
When I chose to study a master’s degree I was working at an investment bank, and I thought that developing my expertise in finance and investment would be the right move. However, due to location issues, I wasn’t sure where I was going to be living, and therefore I decided to look for a course that I could study online.
Working at an investment bank and studying at the same time was quite tricky, but I soon learned that time management is key to making the whole process work for you.
It was very rewarding to be able to combine my studies with my work, and also very useful because I was able to do research for my studies during my work hours.
Also, whenever I needed any help or support from the programme leaders, there was always someone there to answer my questions really quickly.
