As well as getting the chance to meet face to face with fellow students and faculty members, this year’s attendees took part in a tutor-led networking and professional development workshop and enjoyed a tour of Prague’s historical landmarks, including Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and the now world-famous John Lennon wall.

The weekend culminated with the graduation event itself, which included musical performances by the renowned Czech violin virtuoso Bibi Pelic.

This year we were also thrilled to welcome our guest commencement speaker, award-winning actress Heather Matarazzo, who opened the graduation ceremony by giving an inspirational speech to the students in attendance. Heather also invited our students and faculty members to a private screening of her 1996 movie, Welcome to the Dollhouse, after which she was interviewed by the celebrity news website Fancarpet. You can read the full interview with Heather here.

As well as being a fantastic opportunity for our students to share their successes with one another, the weekend also helped us discover more about each student’s personal learning experience. With students attending from countries as far afield as Italy, Saudi Arabia, India, the UK, and Belarus, we had no shortage of feedback regarding the ways in which online learning can change the lives of people from diverse geographical, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

Jeremy C Bradley Ph. D., executive director at InterActive, had this message for our attendees:

“I was delighted to see so many of our students at this year's graduation and networking event, and humbled that so many of you took the time and effort to travel to Prague from such varied locations around the world. I hope that you'll all take away some lasting memories of the weekend, as I shall, and I would like to personally wish all of you the very best in your future careers. I am proud that we have such an inspirational group of individuals now joining our international community of InterActive alumni.”

We would like to thank all of our students, graduates, and faculty members for helping to create another memorable experience, and we look forward to meeting more members of the InterActive community at our next event later this year.
